Tamina Nothhelfer
About
I have worked as a psychotherapist for several years and provided counselling for a number of organisations.
Originally, I worked in a hospital-setting in the field of clinical psychology. Working with children in CAMHS, I used evidence-based modalities like CBT and DBT. I decided to expand my training and did my counselling qualification in Edinburgh in psychodynamic and person-centred therapies.
I worked for a number of local charities and NHS services including Hope Park, The Health Agency and Place2Be. I have since branched out into working with First Psychology as an integrative therapist. Currently I provide services as a specialist eating disorder psychotherapist for a number of services.
I used my experience to open my private practice, where I am working with a variety of issues such as relationship breakdowns, anxiety, depression and family issues. However, I also have particular experience working with abandonment issues, childhood neglect, childhood trauma/abuse, physical/sexual/emotional abuse and PTSD.
Integrative Therapy
My core training is in both Psychodynamic and Person-Centred therapies. However, I integrate elements from a number of different therapies/styles, including Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic Therapies, into my counselling/psychotherapy work to meet your needs. Coping and managing are core parts of my therapeutic approach, so at times I draw on coaching techniques to find additional ways to support you.
