Eating Disorders

I provide specialised therapy for eating disorders, disordered eating or challenges with thoughts around food, your body or body image. Whether you’ve had a formal diagnosis, are already on your recovery journey or this is the first time you’re thinking of reaching out for support, food freedom and a healthy body image are possible for you.

Every day we are fed information on how to look, act or present ourselves.
From endless TikTok videos on diet and health to the advertisements for
weight loss drugs, how we look is emphasised in media around us and can
certainly make us feel self-conscious. In our daily lives, we may be sensitive to the comments made about others or ourselves and feel constantly
monitored. While food plays a major role in our life, thoughts around food,
weight or your body shouldn’t be taking up most of your headspace.

Breaking the Cycle

Maybe you find yourself meticulously trying to count your calories or maybe your ‘healthy eating’ journey feels like it has gotten out of control. Maybe you find yourself exercising excessively, visiting the gym several times a week, unsure whether it still makes you feel as good as it once did. Maybe you keep looking in the mirror to find a person you recognize or maybe you can’t seem to make yourself look anymore at all. Maybe you weigh yourself
every day or the thought of knowing your weight makes you feel sick.

Others have noticed you retreating. Your social interactions seem to all revolve around food or your body, making it hard to make yourself go. You’re tired all the time. There never seems to be enough time for you to exercise as much as you feel like you should or the pressure to exercise feels insurmountable. Maybe you feel trapped in a cycle that appears endless.

Whether others have shared concerns and pushed you to reach out, you’re looking for long-term support in your recovery or you simply feel this is starting to become an issue for you, making that first step by getting in touch can be one of the hardest and bravest things to do for yourself.

About Me

My therapeutic approach helps make sense of the things that just don’t feel right, or the things you feel afraid others can’t understand. I try to answer the questions that run circles in your mind and help you through what may feel like repetitive and endless cycles.

At the end of your therapy, you might find yourself thinking less about food, find yourself able to attend and engage in events you want to and have less thoughts about your body and how you look. You might feel more confident and less scared that things are out of your control.
